Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup butter or margarine
  • 12/3 Cups sugar
  • 2 Pieces (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla
  • 2 Cups flour
  • 2 Teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 Cup milk
  • 1 Cup California raisins, chopped
  • 1/2 Cup walnuts, chopped
  • Sifted powdered sugar

Procedure

Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add melted chocolate and vanilla; mix thoroughly. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add to mixture bowl alternately with milk and blend well. Stir in raisins and nuts. Chill several hours. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in powdered sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350°F about 15 minutes; do not overbake. Allow to cool slightly before removing from pan.
