California Raisin Brownies
A delicious chocolate indulgence for family and friends.
- Serving Size: 1 brownie
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon teaspoon baking power
- 1 cup butter
- 6 ounces dark chocolate baking bars, chopped
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 5 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups California golden raisins
- 3/4 cup ounces chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt together in a bowl; set aside. In small pan over low heat, melt butter with dark chocolate and vanilla until chocolate is melted.
In another bowl, beat eggs; add sugar and beat again. Then, add butter and dark chocolate mixture. Stir in flour mixture, raisins and one-half of chocolate chips. Spread in one 13 x 9 buttered baking pan and sprinkle remaining chips on top. Bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool and cut pan 8 X 4 to make 32 squares.
Note: For more interest, use half white and half milk chocolate chips.
