Ingredients
- 1 Cup sifted flour
- 11/2 Teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon salt
- 1/2 Teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 Teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 Teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 Teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/2 Cup butter (1 stick)
- 1/2 Cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tablespoon molasses
- 1 Cup California raisins
- 2 Tablespoons powdered sugar
Procedure
Combine flour, baking powder, salt and spices in a mixing bowl and sift together 2 or 3 times. In separate mixing bowl, beat butter until light and fluffy. Slowly add sugar, beating until well combined. Beat in eggs and molasses until smooth. Stir in raisins. Gradually add flour mixture and beat until smooth. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto middle of preheated waffle iron. Close and cook for 1 minute or until golden brown. Cool and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
