Bread Pudding

Preheat oven to 350°F. Oil 9×13-inch baking dish; set aside. Cut bread into 1-inch cubes.

In medium saucepan, heat milk, butter, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon together until butter is melted. Cool. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well. Spread bread cubes and raisins in baking dish. Pour milk mixture over all and press down until even with top of pan. Bake, uncovered, at 350°F for 45 minutes or until sharp knife inserted in center comes out clean.

Hot Butter Sauce

In small saucepan, mix sugar and cornstarch together; stir in half-and-half and butter and heat to boiling. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Cut warm pudding 4 X 5 into 20 squares and drizzle each with Butter Sauce before serving.

  • 2 Cups California raisins

  • 2 Cups sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 Cup half and half
  • 1 Cup butter
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla
