Ingredients

  • 1 Cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 Cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 11/3 Cups flour
  • 1/2 Teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 Teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 Cup California raisins
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon ground cinnamon

Procedure

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Cream butter and sugar in mixing bowl. Beat in egg. Sift together flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt; add to creamed mixture. Mix in raisins. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Then, roll balls in 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon mixed together. Flatten slightly and place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes.
