Dark Chocolate Raisin Crinkles
Raisins coated with dark chocolate -- just too good to be true!
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 2/3 cups sugar
- 2 piece (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 cup California raisins, chopped
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- Sifted powdered sugar
Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add melted chocolate and vanilla; mix thoroughly. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add to mixture bowl alternately with milk and blend well. Stir in raisins and nuts. Chill several hours. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in powdered sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350°F about 15 minutes; do not overbake. Allow to cool slightly before removing from pan.
