The study compared the effects of two pre-event snacks, one a raisin and peanut mix and the other a bagel and lemonade, on blood levels of glucose, insulin and lactic acid following a standard soccer match. The fiber in the raisins combined with the protein and fat of the peanuts appears to result in a more desirable glucose level after vigorous activity.
